I honestly cannot remember where I heard about this book... All I know is that I have been wanting to read it for ages and I finally did! The book is told in the form of a letter, which was a little hard to get used to, but once you did, the story flowed smoothly. The letter is written by sixteen year old Gemma, who is drugged by a stranger and taken to the desert in central Australia. But as Gemma 'adjusts' to life in the desert she learns that her past and her captor's are not as they seem. As the days pass in a scorching blur Gemma begins to wonder if maybe her captor is right, maybe he did save her... or maybe not... I really enjoyed this book and it was something unique for sure, but I actually feel a tad disappointed. It wasn't exactly what I thought it was, and it didn't end how I want. Haha, I sound like a spoiled brat! Anyway, it is a solid tale which examines the relationship of everyone Gemma knows, including her captor and captures the Australian desert perfectly.
