I didn't have any expectations for this book. I had heard a lot of people talking about it on BookTube and I knew that it was a romance that fitted into the shiny new category of 'New Adult'. But that was it, that was all I knew... Then one day I was having a quick look in my favourite bookshop (which closed down *sobs*) and there it was for $4. I snapped it up quick smart. I had no intentions of reading it straight away, but then I needed a nice light book that wouldn't give me nightmares and there it was. There. It. Was. Beautiful Disaster literally blew me away!! Literally!! I have never ever been a fan of romance. I like it in small doses in my adventure novels, but not full blown lovey dovey blah blah. But holy moly!! As soon as I finished it, I wanted to start again! The story follows Abby who is keeping her life on the straight and narrow before the disaster of Travis Maxon steps into her life and refuses to step out. He is like obsessed with her (and I'm obsessed with him). He is one of those over protective, kick any guy's teeth in-who looks at you type of boyfriends, whom we all crave but actually would hate. They are constantly on and off and it is so exhilarating and adrenilating that you read whole passages over and over, trying to suck the intensity into your very own soul. I didn't find it at all chessy (apart from the last two chapters which were like double feta) and it was so just so holy goly cracking amazing that I am gushing like a teenager (which I'm not by 19 days btw). So yeah... There is another book which is told from Travis' perspective and I need it, like now, or yesterday actually. Rate: 9.5/10 Pages: 436 Format: Paperback Acquired from: BookWarehouse |
