I really liked the idea of this book; a bunch of animated characters are trapped in a book. They implement a range of strategies in order to try and escape the book and prevent the reader from shutting it. The black background really emphasised that they were trapped. However, I really felt that there were missed opportunities within the book to use a bit of white and colour when the book was actually open, because the constant dark colours set quite a dark mood. The characters are also a bit frightening and I know that my five year old niece definitely would be scared of them. Unfortunately I was quite dissapointed, as this is not a book I would want to share with any of my students, unless of course I was doing a book analysis, where it would come in quite handy...
