Kids love big things! I should know, I am a teacher; plus I am practically still a kid myself. I mean, I nearly wet myself with excitement when I got to see the Big Dinosaur in Ballandean last year. This book is full of some really interesting facts (did you know that Ned Kelly's suit of armour weighed more than 44kgs? - I didn't!). It also has some great jokes and a bunch of easy to do activities; including cool pop outs of some of the big things. A great addition to my classroom!

Anita Moorjani has quite an extraordinary life behind her. Diagnosed with cancer and on her death bed within hours; she slipped into a coma and traveled between worlds; experiencing clarity that changed her life extraordinarily. Upon waking, she discovered that her body had begun to completely rid itself of the cancer, and she was soon completely healed and full of abundant energy and health. This disc offers "a highly specialised program that uses sound at different frequencies to guide you to a state of very deep and meditative relaxation". The sixty minute recording is broken into two parts. In the first part Moorjani explains a little about herself and the aims of the disc. The second part is solely positive affirmations which focus on health, happiness and holistic wellness. I really enjoyed the affirmations and can easily see the healing power in Moorjani's words. There is a gentle background music which I found to be very soothing and relaxing. Now I am no expert on sound waves or frequencies so I really cannot comment on that aspect, but I did often get annoyed at Moorjani's voice. Throughout the recording she has a very hypnotic tone and talks very slowly, dragging the words out. This is most probably intentional and would have benefits I have no doubt; but at times I found it distracting and actually quite irritating. I listened to the CD over two nights, with my discman (I was born in the nineties, give me a break) sitting beside my pillow. I did think that I would fall asleep, but was surprised to find that I didn't neither times. I did however fall asleep immediately after, as I was so beautifully relaxed and at peace. All opinions are entirely my own* It has been over a week since I finished this book, but I have quite the hectic time since and this is the first chance I have had to write up a review. Overall I quite enjoyed Zarkora, I found it to be a really good middle grade story and thought that it would definitely spark interest in younger kids/teens to take up reading. For that reason I really tried to keep an open mind about it. However, as a twenty year old avid reader; I found it to be very predictable, cliché and a little tiresome. It is with mindset that I review it. There were a significant amount of content and characters which paralleled with other fantasy novels; and Rohman's character was far too much like Hagrid for me to be able to make him into his own character. My buddy reader said that "It totally felt like we were checking off stages in a quest video game" and I honestly couldn't have said it better myself. I did quite like that though, but just got irritated that everything they needed would just magically appear, and they really didn't have to work for much. I really loved the poems that told of the tasks they had to complete to get the swords; but the actual tasks were quite dull, and I admittedly skimmed through them pretty quickly. I would absolutely recommend this to younger (8-12 year olds) kids who need something light, fun and adventurous to kick start their reading life; just not anyone else. This book is more so a companion novel, rather than a sequel in the Wind Dragon MC series. It follows heart broken, guilt trippen, tough guy Arrow and the one and only lady who has been able to turn his head in years. But good girl Anna isn't so easily attainable, considering her brother Rake's overbearing possessiveness, and his and Arrow's bond. But will their love prove the strongest fort for all of their deep and serious issues? I'm pretty sure you can guess the answer to that... Again, I enjoyed this book, but was seriously annoyed at it at times. I found Anna's voice to be way too similar to Faye's and that there was really no character development in anyone. Anna seemed to swing from a giggling girl to 25 year old scientist to bad-arse bitch far too often, leaving me giddy and confused. The romance in this novel was very RME (see Dragon's Lair) and predictable, and I really didn't feel any connection to Arrow at all. I will be continuing on with the series, but am looking forward to reading about Rake, Vinnie and even perhaps Talon the most.
