Boy oh boy was I excited to read this book after devouring the epic tale that was The Nanny Diaries! And okay, it was pretty good. I do admit to skim reading A LOT, because while the content was all pretty well written, much of the story line didn't interest me. Pretty much anything that didn't involve Greyer bored me. So Nanny Returns is set in New York twelve years after Nanny (yes, still her name) is forced to leave her job and Greyer behind. But after spending most of the time abroad with Harvard Hottie Hubbie, she is back and so is the blonde boy we have grown to love. Now 16, Greyer has suffered through his life the way Nanny always dreaded and his bitter outlook on anyone who isn't his seven year old brother breaks her heart. Soon enough she is dragged back into the world that already broke her once, but this time she isn't letting Greyer go. There are a heap of pretty tense work related themes in the book too and people who are just blah. Overall it was quite a good book and while I'm glad I got to see how everything was concluded, I probably wouldn't read it again. Rate: 7/10 Format: Paperback Pages: 305 Genre: Chick-lit |
