Tommi Grayson isn't a name, or girl for that matter that you come across often in the world of novels. She is tough, feminine, artistic, has blue hair and oh yeah, is a were-wolf. The latter she discovers only after she tracks down her paternal family in New Zealand, activating her she-wolf gene. Thrown into the world of fantasy, Tommi has to learn how to navigate her old life and new. Luckily for her, she has god's gift to women Lorcan to show her how. Unluckily for her, some want to use and abuse the new powers she has gained from the full moon.
I absolutely loved Tommi's character; she is fierce, strong-willed and its hilarious to live inside her head. There were a tonne of "say what?!" and "hory clapping duck wing!" moments throughout, leaving me constantly on the edge of my seat (bed). There were really strong friendship themes which I loved, and the romance aspect of the novel was in my opinion; on point! Nothing was overdone or cliché and I genuinely was never sure as to what was coming next. The only 'common' emotion evoked was my ability to cry, sob and full on bawl over fictional characters; which I did, a fair bit. You've been warned! The only thing left to do now is lend the book to my friend before she hunts me down to get her hands on it, all while wondering about just what else is to come for Tommi and co.
