Why is it always the start of the review that is hardest? I never know where to begin... Well I guess now I have, phew!
I was lucky enough to be sent a signed copy from the author of this book and so I was very happy to be able to sink my teeth into it. Legacy follows eighteen year old Lex who has left her infamous mother in the suburbs to venture into the evacuated city of San Francisco. The year is 2041 and the pharmaceutical phenomenon that changed the world is raging a terrible war in the city against the Guardians and the Rebellion. It is Lex's job to deliver herself and a weapon to the Rebellion that will bring down the Guardian force, but when she arrives nothing is as her mother had thought it would be. Finding love, friendship and what is right has now become her main priority, but what is theirs? I really enjoyed this novel. I found it had a fantastic pace and I adored the diversity of the characters. I also liked the way Kane didn't overwhelm the story with unnecessary characters, which made the whole affair seem more intimate. It was wrapped up awesomely but I kind of wouldn't mind a sequel... Rate: 7.5/10 Pages: 254 Format: Paperback Genre: YA Dystopian Acquired from: the author, Ellery A. Kane |
