I first heard of The Maze Runner when I went to see it in the cinema with my friend Kerrod. I was pleasantly surprised (after being dismally dissapointed from Divergent) and knew that I would be reading the series. And so here we are, nearly a year later and after having the series on hold at the library for two months, they finally arrived and I cleared a space on my TBR for them. I am pretty happy with the outcome too. :)
The Maze Runner is set in a, you guessed it, maze. Greenie Thomas is sent into the world of Gladers, Grievers and entrapment. Without their memories, the boys have refused to give up hope that there is a way out of the maze. But as things begin to change in the Glade, they begin to realise that maybe they were wrong after all... TMR was a really engaging YA dytopian tale. I feel like it's been a while since I've read one that gave me a real sense of YAness (if that's a word). I am now so looking forward to the rest of the books, where I will have no clue what is coming next. Rate: 8/10 Pages: 371 Format: Paperback Genre: YA Dystopian Acquired from: The Mobile Library |
