Lady Midnight
Happiness followed by sadness. Being back in this world; with familiar and new characters, with Downworlders and Nephilim, with war and love; I was happy. Then I finished it and now I am sad because I have to wait another 12+ months to get my hands and heart onto the next installment. I, as always, have only good tings to say about Cassandra Clare and her master piece series! We were first introduced to Emma, Julian and the rest of the Blackthorn crew in the last book of The Mortal Instrument series. Although the characters were only twelve then, I knew what was to come in this series from there, and I was excited. She set it all up; friendship turned to forbidden love, yes please! So here we are; two real and five fantasy years later. Jules and Emma are all grown up and both figuratively and literally fighting demons. Five years after the Cold War and the shadow worlds have changed; the Fae have been stripped of land and rights and all part Fae stripped from their families. The world is in turmoil, and the Shadowhunters have been forbidden to give assistance to any of the Fae Folk. But when someone they love has the chance to rejoin them, the Blackthorn's make a choice that could see them stripped of their marks. I smile at my cleverness (those who have already read the book will get it, and smile evilly with me). I was surprised to see Clare get into the romance so quick when she made us wait so long in the other series. But hey, I'm not complaining by any means! I love how each new series explores a new city, and I'm here hoping that the next will be set Down Under. *cries with hope*

City of Fallen Angels (Book 4)
I'm not sure if you are familiar with The Mortal Instruments or not but I lalalavee the series!! Angel descendents, vampires, werewolves, faeries, demons and every other fantasy creature., what more could you want?!! This is the fourth book in the series and I decided to read it because the sixth and FINAL book is coming out on Wednesday. I didn't have time (okay i could have squeezed it in) to read the first three but figured since I had read them a billion times I could get away with it. Anyhow, I can't (don't want to) give you a long description about what it is about as I am hungry and sausage sangas are calling me... but what you need to know is that Jace and Clary are shadowhunters (demon hunters) who are so in love its mind numbingly amazing! A heap of stuff that happened as a result of the first three books happens and Jace is so sexy that I know not what to say. Read the synopsis on wiki if you like, or just better yet, READ THE SERIES BECAUSE HORY CLAP THEY ARE SO AMAZING AND WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE and the movie sucks... what? Just saying.

Favourite Quote: "No. That's Clary; she's my best friend." Simon pockets his phone. "And she has a boyfriend. Like, really, really, really has a boyfriend. The nuclear bomb of boyfriends. Trust me on this one."

City of Heavenly Fire (Book 6)
I dragged out reading this book so that I was able to take in every little detail I could. And boy did I ever. This is the final book in the series and the oh did it deliver! The book is pretty big, nearly double the size of the others. Love, loss and life were the main essences of the story. We met some new characters and were reconnected with some old. I am so very happy with the ending, especially since another series by Clare is in the process of being written. It will be based around the Las Angeles Institute characters who were children in this book. It is going to be incredible. *squeels like a child* It seems that I have felt every single emotion through the process of reading this book, and not just subtle emotions, but having every fibre of myself on fire with them. I tend to pick up on story lines pretty well and it is rare for me to be surprised, but as always, Clare had me sitting on the edge of my seat (bed) and having to put the book down for a few moments while I processed the intense moments I was shocked by. It wasn't predictable or shallow, but just amazing as every other of Clare's stories. She truly isn't an author, but an artist and I fawn in appreciation and admiration at her feet.

The Shadow Hunter's Codex - Cassandra Clare
Want to lose yourself in the world of shadows without committing to the entire nine book series that is TMI and TIF? Well my friends, I have the book for you! The Shadowhunter's Codex is nine part (not including the appendix) colossal of facts, fantasy and fun. Literally everything you have ever wanted to know and even the things you didn't are in here. Probably my favourite thing was the way Clary, Simon and Jace had added their comments, thoughts and answers to discussion questions throughout the book. It just made it so much more fun to read, and honestly I wish that their banter was on every page. I don't have a negative thing to say, and I am so happy to be adding this to my Clare collection. That's all my friends, I'm out. :) xo
