The Husband's Secret
So I find myself on the other side of the world with an e-reader that gives me a headache, and no novels to speak with. Cue my amazing b&b host who lent me this book I've been wanting to read for ages! Next imagine me cocooning myself in my room and losing almost the entire day within it's pages. Yeah, no wonder I gave it a bloody 9!
The novel has three main POVs; Cecilia, Tess and Rachel. All three ladies have had their lives (and heats) ripped out of their hands (and chests) by their darling other halves. A secret letter, a double betrayal and a murder come sweeping into reality and the women are left trying to hold onto what precious pieces of their lives they've still got. As plots unfold and lies gives way to truths you see all pieces of the jigsaw come together in an enthralling tale. A brilliant master piece by yet another marvelous Moriarty sister! I literally couldn't pull myself away from this book until I realised that my best friend had been gone for a quick trip to the post office for over an hour. After five terrifying moments (for me) and a couple of calls I found her safe in a cue in the post office. Phew! It played with my mind and toyed with my emotions. Gripping until the very end, this is the reason I always prefer pages to parties. Rate: 9/10 Pages: 406 Format: Paperback Genre: Fiction Acquired from: Diane Clarke as a loan |
