Me: What will I say about this book?
Mum: I don't know, what was it like? This book is like so cool. I tried giving my best friend a synopsis while I was swimming in her pool, and it ended up being a ten minute, thoroughly detailed spoken essay. I'll try to do for you, what I couldn't do for her... Pretty much, humans cut down all the trees and had to move into a Pod (think Under the Dome). Each chapter is in a different character's POV. Aline is a resisitance member who steals and smuggles tree clippings out of the pod to take to the Grove. Bea is an auxiliary (lower-class member) who studies hard and is hopelessly in love with Quinn. Quinn is a premium (rich boy) who thinks his world is one thing, but soon finds out that it definitely is not. These three go into the 'Outlands' to go 'camping' and end up pretty much starting a war that is needed, but neither side is ready for. This is an exciting read which isn't very heavy. It took me a while to read, not because it was hard, but just because I was super social this week and my friends don't take to kindly to me ditching them at 7.30pm to go to bed. Oh, btw, this is apparently a series, which I was not aware of, which the library does not have. :( Rate: 8/10 Format: Paperback Genre: YA/Dystopian Pages: 371 Got it from: The Mobile Library |
