I am not sure where to even begin...
Perhaps I should tell you that I went to bed at 7pm to read this book, or that I finished it some 3.5 hours later, or that I laid awake for what seemed eternity reveling in what I had just read.
Perhaps I should just tell you what this book is about...
Cody is Meg's best friend, or was, I guess. Meg isn't here anymore, she took her own life and part of Cody's too. Now stuck in an unimaginable nightmare that is the aftermath, Cody is trying to put the pieces of Meg's life together, trying to understand why Meg would do this to herself, to her family, to Cody. But what she is most confused about is how she didn't see the signs, and why, oh why, did Meg not tell her. When Cody hops on a train to collect Meg's things she discovers and meets some of Meg's hidden secrets. But can they help her find the missing pieces of Meg's life or are they the pieces that led to her death.
This is a thrilling novel that left me breathless and suspended in a vortex of realism and truth for each page I turned. Forman has found a way to use 3D characters to create an original masterpiece that uncovers some very legitimate issues that are stigmatized in our society.
I knew that i would enjoy this book, but I didn't realise just how deeply I would connect with the themes and characters. I will definitely be lending this books to my friends and heading out to get the rest of Forman's novels very soon!
