So you may be wondering... "Hey, when Jemma gives a book a certain rating, what is her reasoning?"
You're not?! Oh, aha, well this could get awkward... Shhh, just go with it.
On my BookBlog I rate out of 10, I just don't feel that five is enough, and 100 is way too much for me to have an opinion about. The following demonstrates what I am thinking when I rate a book...
1 = I actually feel as though my soul has been ripped out and shredded... actually that's a good solution for this book.
2 = This book betrayed me more than the mystery eggs on CandyCrush.
3 = Wait until my father hears about this!
4 = I would feel 100% justified turning this book into a decoration.
5 = You know the cheap chocolate you get at Easter? Not great, but edible.
6 = I think my sister would might like this.
7 = Worth a mention to the grand-kids
8 = Can I read it again? Like right now?!
9 = I could totally quit my job and start a cult with this book.
10 = If Zac Efron and Dave Franco had a baby. THIS WOULD BE IT!
Goodreads Rating System
Because Goodreads has a 5 star rating system without the option of half stars, I thought I'd let you know how I rate my books over there. What I do is take my rating from my bookblog and apply it to the following et voila! I will always include a link in my goodreads review to my proper review, so clicking on it will allow you to see it's exact rating, as well as why I rated it that way.
1-2 = 1 star
3-4 = 2 stars
5-6 = 3 stars
7-8 = 4 stars
9-10 =5 stars
