The story is set over three hundred years after what they call 'The Reckoning', which was pretty much the end of the world because of humans. However, survivers survived and the Earth now consists of one land mass with seven cities. Humans embrace 'The Balance' and have several Accords that ensure that humanity does not hurt the Earth as it once did. Except, not only has the Earth changed, but so have the humans... Now there people with... abilities, called Illegals.
Ashala Wolf is an Ilegal. She lives in the forest. She is the leader of a tribe. A leader that has been betrayed and captured by someone she loves, and forced to risk her tribe's safety. But there is something she cannot remember, something that changes everything.
The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf is a great novel, and quite an easy read. It is written by an Aboriginal woman who captures the essence of the connection between man and the land perfectly.
Recommended If: You're in the need for a superhero/superpumped up story.
